Children's Safe Harbor was the Highlight Charity recipient of the 2017 Woodlands Marathon held March 4. In addition to $1,000 donated overall by The Woodlands Marathon, an additional $11,417 raised by Reason2Race team pages to benefit Children’s Safe Harbor resulted in a total of more than $12,000 to benefit the children’s advocacy center that serves children ages 2 to 18 who have the courage to battle sexual abuse or severe physical abuse. Children's Safe Harbor board members Kelsi Walker and Chief Matthew Rodrigue of Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office spearheaded the endeavor with The Woodlands Marathon.
