Recognizing and Reporting

This training provides insight on how to recognize abuse and how to report it. Participants will learn to identify signs and symptoms that are often missed and be guided by experts on the proper process for reporting abuse allegations.

  • Ideal Length: 60–90 minutes
  • Audience: Adults (18+)
  • Good For: Educators, faith leaders, youth-serving organizations, volunteers, parents
  • Why: Adequate time is needed to review warning signs, reporting procedures, and participant questions.

Cyber Bullying

In today’s world, so much of life happens online and through social media, creating hidden dangers beyond the screen. While cyber bullying is not new, the ways it occurs are constantly changing. This training offers practical tips to recognize and prevent cyber bullying.

  • Ideal Length: Youth version: 45–60 minutes; Adult version: 60 minutes
  • Audience: Youth ages 8–18 (recommended split: 8–12 and 13–18); Adults
  • Good For: Schools, parents, educators, youth organizations
  • Why: Cyber bullying varies by age and platform, requiring tailored, age-appropriate content.

Online Safety & Exploitation

The internet can be both empowering and risky. This training equips participants with tools to help children and families stay safe online, recognize exploitation, and navigate digital environments responsibly.

  • Audience: Youth ages 9–18; Adults
  • Good For: Families, schools, caregivers, professionals

Mandated Reporter Training

For professionals and volunteers who are legally obligated to report suspected abuse, this training clarifies responsibilities, explains legal requirements, and provides practical guidance for making effective reports.

  • Audience: Adults only
  • Good For: Professionals and volunteers who are legally mandated reporters
  • Why: Legal requirements, thresholds, and scenarios require comprehensive instruction.

Body Safety Education for Kids

This training teaches children age-appropriate skills related to body safety, personal boundaries, and safe versus unsafe touch.

  • Ideal Length: Ages 3–5: 20–30 minutes; Ages 6–8: 30–45 minutes; Ages 9–11: 45–60 minutes
  • Audience: Children

Teen Dating Violence

Children disclose abuse in many different ways, often over time. This training, led by our Forensic Interviewers, explains how children share their experiences, why delays or inconsistencies may occur, and what the disclosure process truly looks like.

  • Good For: MDT members, educators, caregivers, youth-serving professionals
  • Why: Disclosure is often misunderstood and benefits from in-depth explanation.

Grooming Behaviors

Abuse rarely begins suddenly, it often starts with subtle steps known as grooming. This training helps participants understand what grooming looks like, both online and in person, and how to recognize early red flags.

  • Ideal Length: 60 minutes
  • Audience: Adults; optional teen-adapted version
  • Good For: Parents, professionals, youth-serving organizations
  • Why: Clear examples and red flags help participants identify grooming early.

Secondary Trauma & Self-Care

Professionals working with child abuse cases may experience compassion fatigue or secondary traumatic stress. This training provides tools and strategies to build resilience, manage stress, and practice effective self-care.

Human trafficking doesn’t always look like it does in the media. This training helps participants understand the signs of trafficking, the vulnerabilities traffickers exploit, and the appropriate ways to respond when trafficking is suspected.

  • Audience: Adults; adapted version for teens ages 14–18

Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) & Long-Term Impact

This training explores the science behind ACEs and their effect on brain development, behavior, and health outcomes. Participants will also learn about protective factors that help reduce the impact of early trauma.

Victim Behaviors
