Forensic interviewing
When a Child Comes to Children's Safe Harbor

A forensic interview is a fact-finding interview to find out if a child has been maltreated and is usually the first step in most investigations. A forensic interview enables children to make their disclosures on videotape, allowing all professionals involved in the case to view the taped statements, rather than submitting the child to repeated interviews. This approach produces evidence that will stand up in court if the investigation leads to prosecution.

Children's Safe Harbor conducts video taped interviews of children ages 2 to 17 who are alleged victims of sexual abuse, severe physical abuse, and/or witness to a violent crime.
